The Twelve Kingdoms Chapter 3 CD Drama features three original short audio dramas set during the Twelve Kingdoms series.

Summary[]

The Eight Kirin[]

The Eight Kirin is a story of Gyokuyo inviting all the kirin to Mt. Hou in celebration of all twelve kingdoms having kirin and rulers. The story is set shortly after Taiki chooses Gyousou as the new King of Tai.

When the meeting takes place, only seven of the twelve kirin arrive. When they begin squabbling, Taiki finds it reassuring that he can relate to the other kirin, finding their arguments similar to those shared by siblings.

Sister Empresses[]

Sister Empresses features the story of Jokaku ascending to the throne of Kei as the new queen. The timid Jokaku is quickly overwhelmed and begins to seclude herself while her overconfident younger sister Joei takes advantage of the power that Jokaku is afraid to wield. When Jokaku abdicates, Joei seizes the empty throne and, with the aid of the King of Kou, fools the country into believing she is the new queen.
