The Taifu (太傅) serves as the Minister of the Left to the ruler as a member of the Sankou, the three advisors to a kingdom's monarch. Translated as Grand Mentor by Tokyopop.

- Shinshi, the Taifu of Sai during the reign of Shishou, who was her nephew. She later succeeded Shishou as the ruler of Sai and is known as Kouko.
