The Ministry of Summer (夏官, Kakan)[1] manages the kingdom's military affairs and is part of the Six Ministries. It is also known as the Ministry of War[2].

- Daishiba (大司馬) - The Minister of Military Affairs, known also the Grand Master of Cavalry[2].
- Shoushiba (小司馬) - The vice-minister of the Ministry of Summer.
- Daiboku (大僕) - The master of cavalry, the minister in charge of the king's armies and the head of his personal bodyguards.
- Shajin (射人) - An official serving as part of the royal bodyguard.
