Meiki (明嬉) is the wife of Senshin and the mother of Bunki, Rikou, and Ritatsu[1]. Though she and her children do not hold ministerial positions and are not directly involved in the affairs of the court, she and her daughter and older son work closely with Senshin to ensure the kingdom's prosperity. Senshin consults his family on a regular basis and respects their opinions, which he attributes to his success.[2]
Described as a plump older woman, Meiki is a practical minded woman who thinks very little of tying up the sleeves of her expensive clothes to work on ordinary tasks like peeling peaches. Like the other members of her family, she is very involved in projects to improve the social well-being of people inhabiting the kingdom of Sou, including refugees.
